Greene County Property Assessment Adjustment Instructions

  1. Annual Assessment Notices are mailed out in approximately May of each year.
  2. Upon receipt of the Assessment Notice, the property owner has 45 days to appeal their assessment from the day the assessment was mailed.
  3. The written appeal is filed with the County Board of Tax Assessors.
  4. The appeal must be filed within the applicable time period and cannot be filed after that time.
  5. If no agreement is reached, the appeal is automatically forwarded to the Board of Equalization.
  6. The appeal is filed with the Board of Tax Assessors who again reviews their valuation and the appeal filed and informs the taxpayer of its decision.
  7. If the taxpayer remains dissatisfied, the appeal is forwarded to the County Board of Equalization.
  8. A hearing is scheduled and conducted and the Board of Equalization renders its decision.
