ABC Electric Company, Inc. was founded in 1932 by Arthur Badley Whitmer and his wife Carolyn
Arthur J. took the company's reins in 1950 and established ABC Electric as Lincoln's preferred residential, commercial, and industrial contractor
Bill Whitmer joined the company after graduating from UNL with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1959
Work became difficult to come by due to high interest rates and an economic downturn in 1980s which was further complicated by Arthur's death in 1984 resulting in Bill becoming president
John Whitmer assumed duties of president from Bill 2002; he is AB's great grandson and graduated from University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a BS Construction Management 1988
ABC Electric has been associated with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1917 when AB Whitmer joined Local Union 265
