First published in 1881 by George L. Jones as the Bloomer Workman and changed to the Bloomer Advance in 1886
Published by F.O. Wesner, H.A. VanDlsem, E.N Bowers from 1887 to 1897; R.E Andrews from 1897 to 1946; Wm Ender from 1946 - 1947; Alfred Bauer Sr & Gerald Rassbach from 1947 - 1948; Al & Bill Bauer (with their parents) from 1948 - late 1960s when Al purchased it on his own until 1986 when sold to Don Bell of Ladysmith
Mary Samo joined staff 1999 and purchased paper 2002 before selling it 2006 to Jim Bell who named Barry Hoff editor & general manager
